Who we are
The Cryptography Research Centre (CRC) is the leading centre of its kind in the GCC region and one of only a few globally that brings together theoretical and applied cryptographers. With this combination of expertise, we are able to design, analyse and implement cryptographic algorithms and protocols. As a result, we offer solutions to address the threats faced today by digital societies.
Our cryptography experts come from top-tier academic institutions and research bodies across the world, maintaining strong ties with leading international cryptographers to the benefit of our work. In-depth technical expertise encompasses fundamental classical and post-quantum cryptography research, applied cryptography engineering, and research on theoretical and practical cryptanalytic techniques. We also draw on machine learning to enhance our research capabilities.
CRC is part of the Technology Innovation Institute (TII), a UAE-based research centre that aims to lead global advances in artificial intelligence, autonomous robotics, quantum computing, cryptography and quantum communications, directed energy, secure communication, smart devices, advanced materials, and propulsion and space technologies.
We belong to the Abu Dhabi Government’s Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), which oversees technology research in the emirate.

Scientific Advisory Board
We have assembled a scientific board of world-renowned cryptographers specialising in CRC’s areas of expertise.
Here at CRC, we’ve brought together a team of passionate minds from across the global cryptography community and from different areas of expertise. They investigate the current and future challenges of a digital society and respond to those challenges with practical solutions.
